History:

The TOWEL is a symbol of servant leadership that Jesus exemplified on the night of his betrayal. He washed the dirty and smelly feet of his disciples and commanded them to do the same. Jesus told them to wash one another’s feet. That’s a tall order. It would have been easier to wash Jesus’ feet instead or their own followers’ feet, but their colleagues’ feet? “No way!” The struggle might had been too great on the part of the disciples but they did it anyway.

In this same spirit, TOWEL Awards was conceived - colleagues honoring and recognizing one another’s significance and contribution. While there are ministries that cater to the welfare of the financially strapped, physically weak or sick, forgotten “senior citizen” pastors, TOWEL focuses on the excelling and hardworking pastors that bear much fruit for the Kingdom. Most of the rewards we will receive in heaven, but a little recognition will mean a lot to encourage God’s workers, whose works are unenviable and most often unrecognized, and to challenge more into the fulltime ministry.

TOWEL Awards was born in September 30, 2003 through Pastor Al Termulo, the head of the Education Desk of Christian Ministers’ Council of Bulacan [CMCB]. The first  TOWEL Awards were given to Bulacan Pastors Benicio Gatchalian, Romeo Bonggo, Andre Gineta, Rene Bernardo, Sandy Galeza, Rafael Paulino, Romeo Tomas, John Joseph Leo Castillo, Jonel Milan and Bishop Romeo Corpuz in November 23, 2004 in CROSSWorld Auditorium, Banga, Meycauayan, Bulacan.
